About Recruitment

• Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has invited offline applications for 65 Paid Internship positions.
• Final-year or last-semester students pursuing B.E./B.Tech., M.Sc., M.Tech., or equivalent qualifications in relevant disciplines are eligible to apply.
• Eligible disciplines include Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Electrical, Material Science, Quantum Technology, Laser Optics, Semiconductor Device, and closely related fields.
• The internship is scheduled to commence in December 2026 or January 2027 and can have a duration of a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 6 months.
• The application must be submitted offline by post through the candidate's respective institute on or before 30 September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

• Only final-year or last-semester students currently pursuing the specified qualifications are eligible.
• Eligible qualifications include ongoing B.E./B.Tech., M.Sc., M.Tech., or equivalent qualifications in relevant disciplines.
• Candidates who have already completed or graduated are not covered under the notification.

Internship Duration

• Minimum internship duration is 4 weeks.
• Maximum internship duration is 6 months.
• Internship is expected to start in December 2026 or January 2027.

Stipend

• Fixed stipend of ₹5,000 per month is applicable to candidates completing the full 6-month internship.
• The stipend is paid in two equal installments of ₹15,000 each after completion of 3 months and 6 months.
• A minimum of 15 days' attendance in a month is required for that month to count toward stipend calculation.
• Interns joining for less than 6 months, with a minimum duration of 4 weeks, are not eligible for the stipend.
• Lodging, boarding, transport, and medical expenses are to be borne by the candidate.

• Duly filled application form.
• Character Certificate.
• Recommendation Letter / No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the candidate's institute on institute letterhead mentioning the internship start date.
• Self-attested photocopies of relevant educational and identity documents.
• Recent passport-size photograph.
