First class Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology, or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, or a relevant discipline with a strong background in electromagnetics and valid GATE or NET qualification.

Candidates need a 1st class B.Tech, M.Tech, or M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, or relevant field with strong knowledge in electromagnetics and GATE or NET qualification.
GATE or NET is required, but the qualification may be relaxed for candidates who graduated from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) with a CGPA of more than 8.00 or 80% aggregate marks.
Selected candidates receive a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 37,000/- per month plus HRA at 27%.
