• Manipal Institute of Technology invites applications for one Research Associate position under a Department of Biotechnology funded project in the School of Electrical Engineering.
• The appointment is initially for one year and is extendable for up to two additional years based on performance.

Eligibility Criteria

• PhD in Science or Engineering with research interests in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a good academic record.
• Research experience in stem cell culture, tissue engineering, cell culture techniques, MSC characterisation, and 3D scaffold-based culture is preferred.
• Experience with preclinical animal models, histological analysis, and molecular techniques including RT-PCR, transcriptomics, and proteomics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Isolate, culture, expand, and characterise mesenchymal stem cells.
• Seed cells on 3D scaffolds to assess viability, proliferation, and differentiation.
• Conduct in-vitro assays, animal handling, surgical procedures, histology, and imaging.
• Analyse data and assist in preparing project reports and manuscripts.
