Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, Production Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related branch from a recognized university.
As per Department of Science and Technology norms for GATE and Non-GATE qualified candidates.
The upper age limit is 35 years as on the closing date of the application, with relaxation applicable for SC, ST, OBC, Women, and PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.

The post is temporary for 3 years or until project completion, whichever is earlier, with extensions based on a performance review every 6 months.
